For Mom…

One of mom’s most dear friends wrote a Eulogy in honor of mom and I thought that I might post it in her honor.

Finale – My Eulogy

As I lay down to rest my body and my soul
Consider this – that all has never been better,
My heart soars to places unseen.
My eyes see the face of my Lord and my Savior,
My hands work at heavenly deeds.
My feet walk on streets of precious gold.

From earth’s perspective so much to leave behind,
My beautiful children and dedicated husband.
And caring friends and family.
Although there are no tears in heaven
My mind cannot conceive nor my heart understand
Not missing my dear ones except to consider
That being in the presence of God changes everything.

Few people can consider a life like mine
So full of blessing and opportunity
Each gray hair earned specially.
Loving and being loved yet more.
Serving and being served yet more.
Teaching and being taught yet more.
Writing and reading what other have written.
So thankful, so undeserved, so blessed.

The calendar progresses at the same speed for us all
One day at a time, living one life at a time.
My hope is that my ears will hear my Savior say
“Well done.” That will be enough to guide me gleefully
From here into eternity where I shall wait to
Be reunited with those I love.

Of all life’s titles, I hope I will still be called “Mom”.
I will listen and wait ever so patiently to hear it spoken once again.

Lifting our voices to heaven…

On 10 October, my life was drastically changed forever. Â My heart aches, as I know things will never quite be what they were. Though things still remain certain, there is one thing that is sure, God created us and wants to make our joy complete.

So often we find ourselves mulling around in the pit of desparity, for no particular reason. I recently came across a YouTube video entitled “LifeLine” which definitely has reminded me that no matter what, we are to lift up our eyes to the Lord and jump for Joy, through all circumstances.

Bless you Amy T for sharing this precious song with us that comes from your heart. Let us all echo its sentiments

Get Smart…

So I realize that this has nothing to do with the current events of the day with mom in hospice here in Spartanburg, SC, however I thought that I would shed a little bit of an idea as to what I’ve been up to these past few weeks trying to keep my mind off of things.

Last week I saw an advert that Get Smart was coming out on DVD on 4 November 2008 which excited me since I thought it was a pretty funny movie and made me laugh pretty hard (not Brian Regan hard, but still a good laugh).

Nevertheless, as a part of the purchase through Amazon, i received an e-mail to add a digital copy for viewing for only 99 cents. Â Like whoa I thought to myself, how cool is that? Â For a buck more I have access to it online for where ever I’m at through Amazon’s video on demand.

Now I just have to figure out where my Agent 99 is 🙂
