Google Scholar

I must say that I’ve become quite the BlogLines addict thanks to Chris. One of these such blogs that I read, much like many others out there (according to bloglines, 7,103 as of 2155 EST May 10, 2005) reading the Google Blog. It’s pretty entertaining to read and see the thoughts of employees of Google.
Sadly though apparently they hired some one from Virginia Tech. I’m not quite sure what they were thinking 😉 Okay, so I’m just kidding about Virginia Tech not being a decent school, I’ll confess that their engineering school was probably better than ours in some aspects.
Nonetheless, reading through this article by this fellow, it’s interesting to see Google Scholar and how it aggregates information pertaining to scientific journals. It’s interesting doing a little research on say Femtosecond Lasers (something that I played with in college) and seeing all the papers that pop up as can be seen below. Nevertheless, check it out and see if it helps at all — word of warning be that this is not a too to find papers and plagarize journals for your own needs. Be a man (or a woman for that matter) of integrity and use them as resources only.

  1. Sure, post this right AFTER I submit my graduate thesis. Seeing as finding any information on my subject was about as easy as, well, something incredibly difficult and strenuous, this would have been nice.
