I need more cowbell!

Okay, so I must say that I got quite a laugh as a percussionist of many years seeing this clip on the Internet thanks to my friend Michael. Check it out if you’re in for a good laugh.
I’ve got a fever… and the only medicine is more cowbell!

The Complete Works of Shakespeare…Abridged…in 90 minutes…

Ever been to Staunton, Virginia? Ever wonder how to pronounce Staunton? Well, now you have something all the more to wonder about with regard to this city in West Central Virginia as the Blackfriar’s Playhouse presents “The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged.” This performance lasts days upon days, weeks upon weeks… actually it all takes place in about 90 minutes.

See HAMLET performed backwards, forwards, and sideways, TITUS ANDRONICUS as a cooking show, a rap version of OTHELLO, the history plays performed as a football game, and much more. It’s a rabid riot of physical comedy and breakneck banter that lampoons the world’s greatest playwright and all of his plays. Whether you already know and love Shakespeare or wouldn’t recognize iamb if it bit you in the leg, this is unbridled fun for the whole family. (Courtesy of Shenandoah Shakespeare Website)

Interested in going? Act now, it will only last a few more days ๐Ÿ™‚

Be Perfect…

This past evening or morning depending on what time zone that you’re currently situated in — I was in Virginia, but living on Hawaii time, so it was really evening for me ๐Ÿ˜‰ — I decided to watch Friday Night Lights. It’s an interesting story of a high school football team in Texas (yes Topher, I know, all good things come from Texas) learning to work together as a team after losing their star player in the first game of the season. Something the coach mentions time and time again is to “Be Perfect”. As the story develops you hear the coach explain what it means to him to be perfect. “Perfection is not winning, but rather it’s being able to say you did all you could to help the team. If you can say that, then you played a perfect game.”

Breath Deeply… you’re in for a surprise.

So I realize that most of you are probably thinking, “What will Geek think of next to post? Will it be something deep and meaningful? Will it be something random and odd? Will he tell us about his innermost thoughts on the iPod Shuffle? Or will he just show us something incredibly ridiculous that he would like for his birthday?”

Like whoa, what a stud!

You’re wondering who this cute kid is, and I have to take credit for him. That’s right, he’s my nephew thank you very much ๐Ÿ™‚ Okay, so I know, I’m slightly biased, but I still think that he’s the cutest kid in the world. Maybe it’s because he’s a blood relative, or maybe it’s because he really is the the cutest nephew, EVER. He’s almost 2 years old, any suggestions on when I start teaching him about general relativity and atomic molecular optics? All comments are welcome ๐Ÿ™‚
Now you’re thinking, “Okay Mr. Joker, so that means that you’re not as busy as you seem to be, maybe you’re just avoiding all your friends.” Actually contrary to belief since my little shindig out to Las Vegas for the IEEE CCNC I’ve been busy beyond belief with work. I’ve been able to get to Bible study at Bender’s and also over at Flug’s, and sure, I’ve had a little time here and there to take in an episode or two of 24 season 3, but outside of that I’ve been at work. So if I don’t reply to an IM, or an e-mail, or don’t answer the phone, it’s not because I’m being a loser jerk face, rather that I’m probably sleeping or not around and you only see my screenname go from idle to around because I just logged into my computer at home remotely. Nonetheless, I just thought that I would share the picture of Zachary with you all because he’s my mascot ๐Ÿ™‚

iPod Shuffle

Well, after a few days of thinking about it and weighing the options, I finally decided that I could find a need for the iPod Shuffle. So, I ventured over to the Apple store through my companies employee store section (yay for discounts), only to find that the wait had gone from a “Ships Today” to “3-4 Week Expected Shipping” time. Needless to say, I find it humorous that CNN among other news media have started reporting on this (seen here). So I guess this means that for anyone that checked out my Amazon wishlist and saw that it was the top item should go ahead and order for me for my birthday ๐Ÿ˜‰
Ha, ha, ha…. just serious.
