It’s that time of year… that’s right, it’s time to go to Florida. Granted, I probably took the method that most people scoff at. Yes, that’s right, driving over 600 miles in a 11 hour time period to get to sunny Jacksonville, Florida. Quite a nice change from the usual in and outs of Virginia. I mean it’s warm and all in Virginia, but it’s dreary and overcast, and you never really know what the next day will lead to.
For instance, a week ago we had temperatures in the upper 70’s with thunderstorms that eventually turned into tornado warnings. No big deal right? You’d expect the next day to be a little bit cooler right? Oh no, welcome to Virginia and snow. Yes, that’s right, two days til April and it’s snowing in Virginia… and we’re not even in the mountains.
Alas, Florida, land of beautiful palm trees, beachs and of course Lynch’s Irish Pub where you can find food, friends and decent music most of the time. Looking for a good burger? Try out the Lynch Burger, served with a slice of ham, about a quarter inch thick, canadian bacon, some cheddar and the rest of the fixin’s. After that the Irish carbomb is always a tasty dessert – yay for Guinness and Bailey’s, a marriage of flavours meant to be 🙂 Am I saying that you should get toasted at Lynch’s? Not at all, but I’m just mentioning the better things to try while you’re there. Plus, Monday nights, Little Green Men.
Have I seen the beach? Sadly not. I’ve been doing my day job for 12 to 14 hours a day. Oh well, at least the humidity is low and the climate wonderful.
